I got here about three days ago and we have ridden his jumps that he calls the park everyday. There so much fun. Here are some pics from our session today. Tomorrow were waking up early to drive to Linz for the Austrian king of dirt contest. It should be a good weekend. Ill post some pics in a few days of the comp. see ya later

Final In London

I got to London Thursday morning and got in the shuttle with a couple of other riders. We just chilled most of the day on Thursday and checked the course out. All day Friday was practice. In the morning we went and rode practice and then around noon had a riders meeting to see what could be changed on the course to make it better. After they made the changes we rode the rest of the day. That night we went on a jet boat ride through London. It was rad we went under the famous London bridge. Saturday was qualifying and finals. We were all kinda bummed when we showed up for practice because the wind was bad. I tried to make the best of it but in both of my qualifying runs I lost my speed and couldn’t make it to the last jump. The finals were good but a lot of riders were getting blown around so it could have been better. There were a couple of riders who didn’t ride in the finals because riding in the wind was to dangerous. Hopefully next year they will figure it out and put the events in places where it wont be affected by the wind.

So after madrid we flew to the first main stop of the qashqai tour in Munich. Once we showed up and checked in we went over to the course to check it out. The course was some doubles into a drop with two more doubles. The jumps were pretty good size. The first day of practice it was real windy so a lot of riders just watched. Then the next day when qualifying came around, same story. My runs went pretty well but it was hard to trick the jumps in the wind. I ended up missing qualifying by a few spots. The finals were awesome to watch. The wind let up some and people were putting together some good runs. The top 3 were Martin Soderstrom, Trond Hanson, and Brandon Semenuk. Now I’m on my way back home for one week since the Paris stop was canceled because they couldnt get the location they wanted. In 2 weeks I’ll be flying to London for the final stop of the qashqai tour.

The last couple of weeks I’ve been traveling around Europe for the nissan qashqai series. The first stop was in Milan, Italy where I made it into the finals but my runs didn’t come together and I ended up in 15th. The day after that event we went to the Nissan Town Hill race and slopestyle event. It was a fun course with some step ups, drops and dirt jumps. I ended up taking second place at that comp. After Italy we made our way to Madrid, Spain for the second stop of the tour. The course there was so much fun. It had a jump that went into a berm to step up then a drop into a four pack of jumps. The level of riding was really high so it was a good comp for spectators. I ended up taking 11th at the comp. Now were on our way to the third comp in Munich. I’ll post soon on how its going.

Getting the Year Started

The season is really starting to get busy now. I’ve spent the last couple of weeks traveling around to different spots to get ready for up coming contest. After our trip to Puerto Rico I went down to Woodward west for a week to meet up with friends. I learned some new tricks so it was a good trip for me. It’s the best when you learn new tricks and get them dialed. After Woodward I visited Santa Cruz for a couple of days to do some film stuff for Don Hampton. Once we finished things up it was time to make my way over to sea otter. This year it was a little bit different of a set up. Instead of having a dirt jump contest for us free riders they replaced it with a dual stunt race. It was kind of like slalom but instead of a dirt course it was a wooden course with obstacles. The format was 16 riders that qualified had to race head to head in a dual slalom format. Jamie Goldman bumped me out in the first round but we gave the crowd a good show. There was a step up on to a box at the end of the course and Jamie and I made a pact that we would tail whip up it in our race run. The crowd was stoked. After sea otter was over a lot of people stayed an extra day to ride the post office jam in Aptos. The jam was out of control. Tons of people showed up and some crazy stuff went down. After a long day of riding I headed home to get ready for the first stop of the qashqai tour in Milan, Italy. I got home and had one day to build a fresh new bike and get things ready for the long journey to Europe. Now I’m sitting on a long plain flight with Tyler McCaul, Ryan Howard and Alex Reveles. Were all attending the two qualifiers for the qashqia series. The Main series will take place in Munich, London and Paris, but in order to get to the main events we have to qualify. The first qualifier is in Milan and the second will be in Madrid one week later. They will qualify 10 riders and those 10 riders will compete with last years top 15 that are pre qaulified. There’s going to be around 30 riders trying to qualify so we’ll see how it goes.
